I just came back from the Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy and it actually prompted me to update my blog. Therefore, you know it must be big!
Torino is about a four hour train ride north of where I am currently living and it was difficult to pass up the chance to experience my first Olympics. After all, I am in the host country, I am on a school break, and I don't have a job here in Italy. I went to Torino with two friends who had tickets to a preliminary hockey match and although at first I was sad that I didn't have tickets to an event, I soon learned that much of the fun of going to the Olympics is not really attending an event, but participating in the worldwide community and taking in the atmosphere.

My friends who had tickets were not afforded time to discover the nuances of the Olympic plazzas and host city like I was because they had tight schedules to stick to, which included a lot of waiting in lines. While they hurried up and waited, I walked around, taking photos, people watching, and visiting all the areas that Torino had to offer. Oh yeah, I was also in the Today Show audience, in the very front, waving to everyone back at home wh

The top picture is me in front of the Olympic stadium and torch. The second is the logo for this year's games. The third is me after the Today Show taping. I took a lot more pictures but those will come later!
